Strange Siblings

Talking to a friend this morning (via email, how else, lol) I received a mail from my LilBro. He’s moved out to Greece now 0/ <<waves at him, cos he is supposed to be reading this Blog, and all set for a new life out there. Although Im going to miss him (Well, I will naturally be making full use of his spare room, specially if me mother has the kids for me :::how handy Newcastle Airport is::::), I probably won’t notice a great deal of difference.

We’ve never been the closest of families – I’ve always known that him and my mam and dad are there if I need them – but we’re not ones for being in each others pockets. Since we both had email addresses tho, we’ve kept in much more regular contact than we had when it was via phonecalls. Well, we do when I remember to reply to him o/ <<waves again.. I have this huge problem with phoning people, even family, lol, it feels like such an invasion of their privacy, I mean, you are practically demanding that they pay attention to you, and if, for some reason, they can’t talk, I take it to heart (I never claimed to be the right side of sane, did I?) I’m the same with IMs – its very very rare that I will start a conversation with someone that way, which is weird, because I love it when my friends IM me. I think I take my lack of esteem too far sometimes :O)

But an email is different. They can read it when they want, when its convenient. They can answer straight away, and you can have what is, to all intents and purposes a conversation, or they can tuck it away to reply to it later. Yes yes, I know you all KNOW all this already, I’m just trying to explain why I feel more comfortable emailing than I am with other forms of communication.

Where was I? Oh yes – families. :O) I love getting emails off ourkid. His sense of humour is totally surreal, and he does make me laugh. OOOOOOO give me permission to put the funny bits on here you strange individual you :-P I feel I know him much better now than I did as a kid, when he was just there to embarrass me in front of my mates, and someone to beat up on when I was bored <beams>. Now he feels more like a friend than a relation, and I hope he feels the same way about me. And I SOOOOOO can’t wait til he makes me an Auntie.. aw go on, go on, go on, you know you’d make a great dad. And I’ll send the boys over for a bit so you can practise :O)

You know something tho LilBro? I’m really proud of you, who would have thought you would have done as much as you have done, when you were planning on running away into the Army. And learning Greek is going to be a doddle – lets face it, you’ve been talking double dutch for years :-P  (can feel the waves of his embarrassment from here)
